wanderlust

It was hectic since a while, but now It’s done! we’ve moved from Caen to Paris. Tomorrow is the first day of our 2 months of wandering! First, we’ll travel to South of Turkey to see my family and then we will be heading to south east asia for 1,5 month! It’ll do good to us to be away from everything for a while, to have the time to meditate for the future. I’ll see you all in October. I wish you all the best until then… :)

Depuis quelques temps, notre vie était bien chargée et agitée, mais là c’est fait, c’est fini! On a effectué notre déménagement de Caen à Paris. Demain sera le premier jour de notre grand voyage. On ira d’abord voir mes parents au sud de la Turquie. Ensuite, nous irons en Asie du sud est pour 1 mois et demi. Ça va nous faire du bien d’être si loin de tout pour nous vider la tête et méditer pour notre futur. Je vous dis au revoir en Octobre et je vous fait mes meilleures vœux jusqu’à la prochain fois.  :)

Whoooo Hooooooo! I won! I won THE red vintage looking SMEG fridge! You can see the article here on Marie Claire Maison’s site (in french).Huge thanks to Marie Claire Maison staff, they made me very happy! I am already imagining how my future kitchen look like…I will move the vintage sign to the kitchen, it will go perfectly well with the fridge. I’ll make a more industrial and vintage look all in concrete-white-black-grey and red :) Now remains one detail: to find an appartment!!!!Oups! Maybe shall I first get a JOB to be able to rent a flat huh?

J’imagine déjà à quoi ma future cuisine ressemblera…Je vais bouger ce panneau vintage dans la cuisine, ça ira parfaitement avec le frigo. Puis, j’opterais plus pour un look vintage-industrielle en rouge-noir-blanc-gris! ça va être chouette! Il reste maintenant un petit detail: trouver un appartement! Ou plutôt un travail d’abord, histoire de pouvoir louer un appartement!!!! Aie! :/

J’étais encore de passage a Paris pour 4 jours pour faire la demande de visa vietnamien. A part l’obligation de prendre multiples fois le RER B et le métro parisien pour me rendre aux services publiques et diplomatiques dans ces temps caniculesques, ce séjour était très très sympa! J’ai pu voir plein d’amis, découvrir de nouveaux bars et cafés, me promener avec allégresse dans mes quartiers préférés, et surtout voir des vitrines, des magasins qui m’inspirent énormément. Merci etait un de ces magasins.

Malheureusement j’ai pu faire les photos qu’avec mon i-phone car j’avais honte de prendre des photos…d’ou la mauvaise qualite d’image!

hello hello,

I finally did it! I could tidy my place and take pictures around and post it on "marie claire maison"s "bienvenue chez vous" (welcome to your place) page. As we are soon moving from this flat and we are kind of broke, it would be perfect to win either their lovely habitat ella couch Or the SMEG fridge!

my coolest customized fridge

Hello my dears,

This weekend I was up to customizing my fridge for Marie Claire Maison’s contest. If my fridge wins, I’ll have a SMEG which is my everlasting dream fridge. Plus my fridge is dying, there is water coming out of it because it’s door won’t close properly :( … I can’t afford a new fridge right now! (thus my efforts to customize a dying fridge!) I really really really want to win this!

today, i iodize myself

When at the beginning of the month I could swim 3 days in a row in the sea, my body probably felt as if it was the beginning of a long summer. Unfortunately not, it’s gray and cold here in Caen. But miraculously, yesterday I’ve found some glasswort in the market and ate it today! I would have never imagined to find it in France! (Why Not?!)

The Turkish way of cooking it is very easy, you just cook it 5-10 min. to get the salt out a little, add some garlic, lemon juice and olive oil, and eat it cold as a starter. That said, I admit there is something missing to eat it properly: RAKI!!!!

this will be my best friend this summer

Now it’s official! We are going to Thailand – Cambodge – Laos and Vietnam for 1,5 month this summer! This was my dream for like…forever!

 

The first thing I thought was shoes and the protection for my camera from the humidity and mousson rains. I always wore Birkenstock in the summer when I had long vacation in the mediterranean sea -which means when I was a child-. Now that I am going to need something solid for walking, in hot and in wet environment, I immediatly thought about Birkenstock! And I fell in love with the color and model of this one. My camera bag is the same leather color aswell which makes me even happier!

I think, I’ll go with these on my feet, with my camera bag, some meds, and with an empty bag.

Now that I have resolved the big issue of "confortable shoes" I can focus on to selling my furniture on ebay or leboncoin for our moving in en of july.

In the mean time, I would appreciate any advice for Thailand, Laos, Cambodge and Vietnam.
